Description:

  • Located in the very heart of Kapaau across the street from the famous King Kamehameha Statue, this charming library is certainly worth a quick visit. Over 80 years old, the small weathered exterior speaks of plantation-era ambiance and charm. A step inside will reveal stacks of books, Internet access and many modern amenities. If time allows, the unique Hawaiiana section of this small library deserves attention. The days of this lovely building are numbered. The new North Kohala library is being built down the road complete with central air-conditioning, self check-out capabilities and more, but charming it will not be. - Lottie Tagupa
