  Your adventure begins by visiting two of Kona's gorgeous beaches, Magic Sands and Kahaluu Beach. You'll then proceed south to witness the marvelous scenic view of Kealakekua Bay from the famous "Painted Church" (St. Benedict's Catholic Church). Painted by Belgium-born priest Father Velghe, the beautiful, bright, and creative ceilings, columns and walls depict actual Bible scenes.

  You'll then be transported to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park also known as "City of Refuge" and be guided through its royal grounds. Often, cultural demonstrators will be working and sharing their knowledge on traditional arts and crafts. During the winter months, you may have the opportunity to see green sea turtles and humpback whales in Keone Ele cove. It is here that people who violated "Kapu" (broke the Hawaiian laws) would seek refuge.
