Description:
Whether at a simple coffee shop with frenzied waitresses or a subdued al fresco table with views of the crashing surf and palm trees, a Big Island brunch is more than just chatter about plans to see dolphins or visit volcanoes. It’s thick coconut syrup on macadamia nut waffles, freshly brewed 100 percent Kona coffee (not the blend) served lavishly and generously. Sweet lilikoi butter on warm popovers, Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast and POG, a blend of passion fruit, orange and guava juice that is an island classic.

Description:
Though open for several years, this longtime local favorite still aims to offer a memorable and unique dining experience. The cuisine defies classification; some items are contemporary American, some Asian-inspired and some vegetarian. Most dishes feature island fish and vegetables, although the burger, made with island beef, is a favorite. Signature items include the Tofu & Avocado Sandwich and the Taro Crusted Ahi. The restaurant is located in the historic Aloha Theater, which was one of the first Hawaiian movie houses. The great food aside, the restaurant also is the home of the Aloha Performing Arts Company, and hosts its events at this former theater.

Description:
The setting is charming and authentic with an atmosphere that play homage to the ranching town and the 100 year old Chock In Store that preceded the restaurant for 100 years and was a mainstay in the small town of Waimea. The is filled with creative dishes of Euro Asian flavors and features fresh produce from island farmers and the most flavorful island beef in the state. Sunday brunches are especially festive.
