The Best of Big Island Bar Scene

The Best of Big Island Bar Scene

Description:

Although the Big Island has a reputation for rolling up the sidewalks a lot earlier that say, Oahu, the Kona Coast has a reputation for lots of fun and frolicking. As the sun sets the little seaside town turns from sun and sunburned to heady hot Hawaiian nights. Start with a sunset cruise for dinner and drinks and head for hotspots along Alii Drive to pub crawl and bar hop until who knows when.

    Description:

This is one of the better live performance venues on the Big Island. Located just outside of Hilo, the lounge features live acts weekly, including local bands and visiting mainland bands. Most shows are either rock or Hawaiiana. Dance/DJ nights are also sponsored occasionally. In addition to the live shows, you will also find a comfortable bar area and a dining room serving a wide range of local and American specialties. The clientele is primarily local. The hours of operation are as flexible as can be; the bar stays open until the owner feels like closing it.

    Description:

This full-scale booze-and-buffet adventure is for adults (21 and over) only. The festivities take place aboard a vessel large enough to be described as a barge. Tourists are shuttled from their hotels in the late afternoon and the boat leaves the Kailua Pier just before sunset. Guests are invited to eat and drink as much as possible, and live local entertainment is provided. Shuttle service is provided from the Mauna Kea, Waikoloa and Kailua areas.
