Description:
- The home of this restaurant, Goldener Anker is one of the oldest houses in Heidelberg, a traditional Southern Germany wood and plaster building about 400 years old. (After destruction by the French it was rebuilt in 1738 on its original foundations, and has served as a pub and a restaurant ever since.) The menu changes regularly, but features traditional, simple German meals served in satisfying portions. Recommended is the Woodcutter pork cutlet, with bacon, onions and fried potatoes. Beer, wines and spirits, as well as non-alcoholic drinks, are also available.
