• This year the International Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival takes place from November 10th thru the 20th and is a perfect example of how Heidelberg proves time and again to be a successful, entertaining and worthwhile cultural crossroad. The 6th oldest international film festival in the world, the Int'l Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival only shows films that have not been shown at other big festivals and brags about 60, 000 visitors each year. This year the international committee will choose between 40 and 50 new films to premiere, a stunningly elite selection considering that over 1000 submissions will be considered. Anyone with any knowledge or interest in cinema, or any visitor simply curious, will find a night spent watching a film and/or listening to screen writers and directors tell about their creations, all while sitting in an enormous tent placed right in the middle of one of Germany's oldest city centers a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
