Top 10:

Brand Name Hotels in Helsinki

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • The city center is where you will want to be. This area is compact enough to walk around and there are trams and buses if you need them. Most of the hotels here are pricey but there are some alternatives.

Top hotels with excellent facilities and service include Hotel Kamp which opened in 1887, Scandic Marski Hotel which sits opposite the huge Stockmann department store, and the well-known Sokos Hotel Torni. All are within a few blocks of each other and most Helsinki attractions are within walking distance.

It is not easy to find mid-market hotels in this area. An option is the Best Western Carlton Hotel. Budget properties are available, such as the Erottajanpuisto, a small place with doubles and dorm rooms in an old stone building.

Not quite in the city center, but still within walking distance, are the Hilton Helsinki Strand which is in the Kallio district and the Crowne Plaza in Toolo district. Both have modern, stylish rooms with some having nice views.

The other area worth considering is close to the airport, which can be a 20-30 minute commute to the city. There is transport to the city from here and several hotels have a shuttle service from the terminal. The Holiday Inn Garden Court is probably the best choice.
