- This is a skiing centre located 70 kilometres from Helsinki. It features 11 ski slopes of varying difficulties and lengths. The easiest slope is meant for children, the hardest one is a competition slope. There is also a special area here for snowboarders. Two chairlifts carry up to 5,000 people per hour up the slopes. The Alho Bistro serving hot pizzas caters to your hunger pangs. There is a rental outlet and an equipment servicing centre here. At the ski school you can try downhill skiing, snowboarding and other styles like telemarking. Traveling to Alho is easy: a ski bus leaves from Helsinki at 8:45 am every Saturday and Sunday. A bus ticket includes an all-day ticket. For more information about the Ski bus contact Nurmijärven Linja at +358 9 878 9900.
