    • One of the most famous landmarks of Helsinki, the Helsinki Cathedral was originally built for Tsar Nikolai 1st of Russia and was called St. Nikolai`s Church. When in 1917 Finland gained it`s independance the name was changed to its present form. Over 350 000 people visit the church annually for religious ceremonies and weddingsand including tourists as well.It is and remains one of Helsinki`s most popular attractions.
