Hello, Thank you for your question. It's a good choise to come to Helsinki this weekend. Propably you'll have such a nice weather.
Your question is not easy to answer. It totally depends on what you are interested in. Personally - if it's warm - I like to go by ship and having a little sightseeing tour. There are various tours going from Kauppatori (near the white chapel). See more here: http://www.ihalines.fi/english/index.html. We have also an "Audio City Tour", especially for individuals which are the first time in Helsinki. It takes about 1,5 hours and commentary is possible in 12 languages: Chinese, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Helsinki dialect. More information and booking: http://www.helsinkiexpert.com/sightseeing_and_tours/sightseeing_and_regular_tours/2_hours/audio_city_tour_in_helsinki_%28individuals%29.857.xhtml. But it could be exciting too, just to take a map and to roam to the beautiful streets of Helsinki.
If you want to try Finnish food, I would recommend the most popular restaurant in Helsinki, called ZETOR in the inner city: http://www.ravintolazetor.com. And for evening programme there's a lot in this city. I really would ask you to reply, and to tell what interests you have. This would be much easier for me to answer your questions.
In any cases, I hope my answer will be helpful for your trip to Helsinki.

I would recommend to split your day in two halfs. First you can rent a bike (e.g. www.greenbike.fi) and have 2-3 hrs biking sightseeing. Helsinki has lots of safe biking lanes and marked routes you can follow easily. During your trip you see most of the main sights and you can also taste the friendly and naturelike atmosphere of the capitol city of our country. Bike rental shop offers you advices and maps. Remember to ask helmets if they forget to oofer, they should be worn during biking depending on our regulations.
Then, have a quick break at market square next to the presidental palace and have some small snack, I recommend you share a plate of "muikku" ( small fried fish ) and salmon with your friend. Of course you should try Finnish ice cream which is probably the best in the whole world !!! You find ice cream kiosk as well at the market square.
In the afternoon; take a ferry leaving from market square and take a 15 minutes sea ride towards to Suomenlinna Fortress, which is world heritage destination ( www.suomenlinna.fi ) and there you can take a look to wonderful seaside but also get a interesting lesson of our nations history. Lots of remarkable buildings and an unique feeling, remember to visit also Suomenlinna infromation desk and see the multimedia show there. And just before you leave the fortress have a taste of local bear in a brewery located just next to ferry pier.
This active day will offer you lots of nice experiences and it is great way to get a taste in a such short period of time. Wellcome to Helsinki !!!
