- MonteLago Resort is at Lake Las Vegas, the small community built on the shores of a private lake. If you're looking for the hustle and bustle of the Strip, you'll be disappointed with MonteLago--there's not even a casino here--but if you want a desert escape in a lightly-visited, slightly remote location, MonteLago may be what you're looking for.
Studios and suites enjoy a view of the lake, which gets its water from Lake Mead. The Italian-themed resort also has a village (complete with cobblestone streets) with shops and restaurants. The Village hosts festivals throughout the summer and ice skating in the winter. Visitors can take a gondola ride, or take advantage of nearby golf courses. You're also minutes away from Lake Mead NRA, which is full of opportunities for exploration (as well as places to rent boats and jets skis).
A shuttle to Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip is offered three times a day. Visitors who want to hit a casino are a short drive from the Boulder Strip. Several bars and restaurants are located on the property and in the Village, including the Auld Dubliner, an Irish Pub; the Black Pepper Grill, a steak/seafood/lobster/sushi restaurant; and the wine and tapas restaurant, Sunset & Vines. - © NileGuide2012

Booked for one night for a retreat. This would be ok for a family extended stay, but it's like a holiday in with no services. Bring a cooler as there is no where to buy anything........
