Description:

  • These mountains offer a perfect place to take a drive on one of several mining or ranching roads that wind through the range. Due to the close proximity of Mexico, you will encounter a landscape similar to our adjacent neighbors. There are opportunities for views into Mexico from the high elevations, roads that will take you right up to the Mexican border, and a few old historic and mining sites to explore. Pack your lunch or load up your camping gear and explore the panoramic views of the Patagonia Mountains. There are no facilities in the south Patagonia Mountains. Bring plenty of water to drink and to drown your campfire. Make sure you have "gassed up". Bring garbage bags to "pack out" your litter. There are no toilets, so please dispose of human waste properly.

Leave No Trace of your visit , obtain maps and information about where you are going, drive only on numbered roads, bring out everything you bring in, please pick up litter left by others, use existing campsites and fire rings and leave artifacts and natural objects where you find them.
