• This walking tour is available each Thursday, allowing participants to explore all the flora and fauna of this national wildlife refuge. An interior island just west of Hilton Head, Pickney Island is shielded from harmful ocean storms, protecting the abundant plants and wildlife in the maritime forest, salt marsh and fresh water pond ecosystems within. The island was once home to coastal natives and its rich history is examined throughout the tour. Learn about the wildlife management techniques employed by local government to help preserve this coastal treasure. Tickets are Adult USD12; Child (4-12) USD7; reservations required.
