- If the deer and "wild" monkeys of Miyajima have whetted your appetite for wildlife, perhaps the Asa Zoological Park, north of the city center, is worth a visit. The grounds cover 23 hectares, making this a good place to go for a walk or picnic. Kids can "discover" animals from all over the world, including Asia, though the African exhibits appear to be the most noteworthy. Again for kids, a science exhibit and petting zoo should provide a more hands-on experience.
