  • It is a measure of the breakneck progress elsewhere in Saigon that this branch of the French chain looks somewhat dated in parts.  Bedrooms are opulent enough, but the presence of plastic shower curtains in the bathrooms will be anathema to those who expect a modern five-star hotel to come up with the goods with regard to trimmings. These quibbles, however, are small fry in the overall context of what the hotel has to offer. Situated on Le Duan – one of Saigon's grandest French-style boulevards – it is just a short walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace and the rest of the downtown action and a small taxi fare away from the boisterous allure of the Pham Ngu Lao area.  Other pulls include a rooftop swimming pool with fantastic views over the city and two fine-dining restaurants replete with Gallic savoir-faire.
