Customer care isn't always what it could be in Vietnam, but Saigon generally does service with a smile pretty well. This solid mini hotel, however, delivers with a full-blown beam. Reality TV shows are big in this country, but there's not yet been a contest to find Vietnam's friendliest person. If there was, there's a fair chance that Thu and Lang, the receptionists here, would ace the competition. The welcome is warm – a real bonus when you've just rocked up in an unfamiliar and disorientating basket case of a metropolis – and they are both unfailingly knowledgeable fonts of useful local information. The rest of the hotel isn't at all shabby either. Rooms are smart and come with the usual trimmings while inclusive breakfast and wi-fi add even more luster to an already attractive package. One word of warning however. There's no elevator so if you are unfortunate enough to get a room on one of the higher floors there's a good bit of exercise awaiting you.
