Banh Xeo An La Ghien

Description:

  • Banh Xeo is a Vietnamese pancake made of rice flour and tumeric, stuffed with mustard leaves, pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts, then fried over a high fire. You eat it by wrapping pieces of fried banh xeo in cool lettuce leaves, then dipping into a tangy fish sauce.  The restaurant serves a variety of Banh Xeo and other Vietnamese dishes. Diners can choose from an air-conditioned area downstairs or outdoor porch seating upstairs. This place is very popular and is busiest from 6-8:30p, so arrive early expecting to wait 15 minutes for a table. As the name suggests, to eat these tasty pancakes are addicting 'Là Ghiền'—which means "like a drug". - Kevin Minh
