Description:

  • Good large salads and tasty personal pizzas are popular at Pomodoro, a cozy little dining room with tile floors and brick walls in an arch that gives the place an Italian grotto feel. But the restaurant's actually quite light and airy, and the staff is friendly. Antipastos of bruschetta or prosciutto and melon are great, and if you bring your appetite, you can follow them up with a primi piatti of pasta and a rich secondi piatti of fish, meat, or poultry. Ingredients are generally fresh, but I ordered a pesto dish and it was delivered in all of 30 seconds, speaking of a precooked, microwave kitchen. Ask to have any pasta cooked to order. The wine menu is deep, with some fine Italian reds. The place is always full, with lots of casual international business dinners over a shared love of Italian cuisine.
