    • Like many of Saigon's (Ho Chi Minh City) secrets, Vuon Kieng is an ugly duckling from the outside. Located right on the riverfront at the end of Hai Ba Truong St. (opposite Me Linh Square with its statue of Gen. Tran Hung Dao), Vuon Kieng is a coffee shop right on the Saigon river. Conveniently hidden behind a motorcycle car park, this place is another little "jewel" to be fondled. While the food menu is sparse and I doubt the staff's ability to mix some of the cocktails offered on the drinks menu, these are NOT reasons to visit Vuon Kieng. This is coffee on the river. In over a decade, I've never seen it busy during the day. Within walking distance of all the 5-Star hotels in District 1, this is a great place to bring foreign clients for business chat during the day.
