• Saigon Zoo may not be world class, but it is a refreshing green refuge in the central city. In the same compound, you will also find the Botanical Gardens, Hung Vuong Temple and The Historical Museum (that also have water puppet show available.) When arriving at the main gate, you will find ticket booths on both left and righthand side. Straight ahead is the entrance with guards and they only collect the tickets, they do not sell them. First time I arrived, I missed the ticket booths and had to backtrack. Once you passed the guards, you will see a train in front of you, (it is a tractor decorated as a train with carriages), and you can enjoy a ride through the zoo. Saigon is lacking of activities for kids, and a visit to the zoo is always a winner.
