Most local people refer to "condominiums" simply as "apartments." The best location for condos in HCMC is Phu My Hung in District 7 (about 7km from the city center in District 1). This is the only true planned community in HCMC and has a now vibrant community to support most upscale living conditions for those who want the condo lifestyle. District 2 would be the second-best location for condos, but infrastructure here is not up to par and it is more difficult to commute to any other location in HCMC from here. Also, this has not been properly planned, so it has been developed by multiple competing companies and is quite a mess. There are also some interesting developments coming up on a small scale in Districts 5 and 11. But, Phu My Hung still is superior and will likely remain unmatched for at least another 10 years.

there are a lot of condominium in Ho Chi Minh city, you can see it in almost districts in the city such as Tan Da building in D.5, Ngo Quyen apartment or the newest building is Bitexco Financial Tower which has 68 floors is the highest tower in HCMC

apartment = condominium, you can find out most of districts in Ho Chi MInh city (But The renting rate depends on the population location) Dist 1,3,5,6,7,8, Tan Binh.... etc..

I think you should follow Mr. Smith's advices because Phu My Hung Resident in Dist. 7 is a ideal place for you to stay. It's the most beautiful and magnificent district in HCMC with lots of advantages like great landscapes, shopping malls ( Lotte Mart, etc. ), grocery stores, golf yards, VIP schools ( RMIT ...), Starlight Bridge.... ok lots of nice places :) Add more, Dist. 7 is near Dist. 1, 4 ( Dist. 1 is center downtown of HCMC) , just 7 ~ 8 km from Dist.1 to Dist. 7 (as Mr. Smith said). You'd better type : "Apartment for rent at District 7 in HCMC" on Google then search whatever you want :D Hope to see you in HCMC. I think Mr Smith answer is mostly correct. Everything you want is at Phu My Hung, But if you want cheap price and you don't really care about the high living condition, you can choose some at Binh Thanh District or District 1, it really have a lots of aparment for you to rent. The price would be from 600 to 1000 USD per month. Bye
