  • The impressive array of Hong Kong restaurants in Hong Kong make locals proud to call Hong Kong a culinary heaven. You will find good Hong Kong restaurants and friendly service overall due to the intense competition and picky Hong Kong taste buds.

Nobu at the InterContinental Hotel is not the snobbishness that people may expect from a three star Michelin fine dining restaurant. Of its tasteful elegance and warm decor, this top Hong Kong restaurant is best known for the pleasant surprise diners get from the fusion Japanese combination and of course the one of the kind sauces. Want to impress the girl and blow the credit card? Take her to Hutong is what Hong Kong expats will say, the view from Peking Road speaks for itself its 180 degrees of the Hong Kong skyline with a riddle like menu. The restaurant caters to tourists as well as an English speaking crowd but expect exquisitely crafted Sichuan cuisine.

Chef Nakamura at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon is voted one of the hottest chefs in town for clear reason, his creations are fastidious, tireless obsession for perfection really shows in his work - every piece of cake at le salon is flawless, perfectly balanced and this is one top French fine dining restaurant in Hong Kong where you can really be impressed.

Restaurants in Hong Kong that provide diners with unparalleled views are the Top Deck at the Jumbo, Domani and the Peak Lookout. Though the Jumbo Floating Seafood restaurant is plain touristy, its nevertheless worth giving it a try because it really pertains to the spirit of Hong Kong Seafood restaurants. Looking for Black truffle、Marche style fruit of the sea、Potato fondant、Simmered and served in an albanella jar、The black hole - prawns... Domani at Pacific Place has it all and its one of the top Hong Kong restaurants in terms of looking amazing before you even enter the restaurant. The Peak Lookout offers views of the Victoria Harbour skyline and the restaurant is probably one of the most romantic restaurants in Hong Kong with the crisp breeze blowing in your faces.

Whether you want to dine fancy or are on a small budget, Hong Kong is one of the few places in Asia pacific where you'll find that good food doesn't have to come with a hefty bill. Hong Kong locals favour practicality over superficiality, whilst the expensive restaurants earn their well deserved mention as a local pick but the true local value comes from trying a Cha Chan Teng called Tsui Wah Restaurant because of its authenticity as serving staple meals and Hong Kong food like Fish ball soup, Curries and milk tea. No local pick is complete without a recommendation to a great buffet restaurant. Yamm at the Mira is where you can make reservations to get some serious down to earth buffet that is balanced in terms of price and the choice.

Never leave Hong Kong without trying dimsum and wonton noodle soup. Tim Ho Wan is a one starred Michelin Restaurant that serves cheap dimsum to the everyday folk in Hong Kong and the restaurant has a strong base of fans because the boss insists on the freshest possible ingredients and the preparation of food only after orders. Tsim Chai Kee attracts queues during lunch hours so its best to avoid visiting on Weekdays during lunch hour or else you may not find the best service or seats to yourself. There are many wonton noodle soup stalls anywhere you go around Hong Kong but Tsim Chai Kee is one hole in the wall that has won a Michelin star for the ingredients are fresh and the soup complements the noodles so well that poetry can be written about the experience.

Lin Heung Tea House is one of the oldest dim sum tea houses in Hong Kong, you sit with strangers, dim sum trolley carts are first come first served and there is shouting and noisy banter happening all around you. All sorts of nostalgic dim sum that you won't see elsewhere and they even have their own signature bakery.

Wing Lok Yuen is a Hong Kong working class favourite cha chaan teng. Their signature double sausage hot dogs are small and quick to stuff down when you are in that hurry that everyone in Hong Kong is always in. The house sauce is a mix of mayo and deviled eggs but so light and fluffy its has the texture of whipped cream. Wing Lok Yuen is probably one of the best Hong Kong fastfood restaurants.
