Kowloon
Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok are the favourite top three essential places to visit in Kowloon hence the term 'Yau Tsim Mong'. The pedestrian traffic in Kowloon is amazing and the best way to absorb the atmosphere is to walk down Nathan Road at night starting from the impromptu and eclectic Temple Street Night Market. Mong Kok in particular oozes with life and character after dark and Ladies Market is a must visit for buying trinkets and souvenirs.
Kowloon is easily confused with Kowloon City and Kowloon Bay because of the word Kowloon. Whilst Kowloon City is, as the name suggests, in Kowloon they refer to two different places. Kowloon City is merely a small area next to the old Kai Tak airport in Kowloon whilst Kowloon generally refers to the entire Kowloon peninsula. Kowloon Bay on the other hand is yet another neighbourhood within the Kowloon that serves both residential and commercial purposes.
