Description:

  • Masala is located in a small alleyway in the historic district of Sheung Wan, an area which is renowned as the initial landing point for the British in Hong Kong. This restaurant, whose name translates as an Indian spice mixture, sports burnt orange walls and doesn't offer much of an ambience adorned as it is with rather rustic, utilitarian furniture. The restaurant's menu however makes up for this shortcoming as it offers a wide selection of largely Northern Indian dishes and includes rich curries like Rogan Josh, Prawn Vindaloo, Dal Makhani as well as tandoori (grilled) dishes like Chicken and Fish Tikka. Also available on Masala's menu are an assortment of Indian breads and traditional Indian desserts like Kulfi and Gulab Jamun. -Anjeeta Nayar
