Bride's Pool

Description:

• This series of several small waterfalls and pools is a favourite picnicking destination, and is reached by heading north from Tai Mei Tuk along the Bride's Pool Road. Like many Chinese landmarks, there is a local legend behind it: a bride-to-be was on her way to her wedding when her sedan-chair bearers slipped on the rainy path next to the pools. The young woman fell into the pool and, rather sadly, drowned.
