  • Description:

    • This museum houses the oldest historical monument in Hong Kong, an early Han Dynasty tomb believed to have been constructed in AD25-220. The burial vault was discovered in 1955 when workmen levelled a hill slope during construction of the surrounding housing estate. Consisting of four chambers set in the form of a cross, it is the only ancient attraction of its kind in Hong Kong. Although no humans remains were ever found, it is believed that the tomb is thought to have been built for an imperial Chinese official or settler, and a display describes the funeral objects found in the tomb, including pottery, bronze pieces as well as model houses and barns.

A 3D digital animation video also provides visitors with a detailed, 360 degree tour in side the tomb, giving a view of the domed vault at the centre and the four barrel-vaulted chambers.
