Description:

• This is reputedly the largest company specializing in hand-painted antique porcelain reproductions, especially huge pieces like vases and garden stools. Its vast collection covers all Chinese artistic periods, including Song dynasty celadons, Canton Rose, Chinoiserie, Chinese Imari, and 17th- and 18th-century Chinese export porcelain. Although new owners have changed the focus of the company to a more European look (a move, no doubt, to entice the mainland nouveau riche), the Aberdeen warehouse, with 20,000 items on display, has plenty of Asian reproductions in stock. An additional small showroom is on the 7th floor of the Lee Roy Commercial Building., 57-59 Hollywood Rd. (tel. 852/2543 2823), but serious shoppers will want to make the trek to Aberdeen (but be sure to call first). Both locations are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
