Art lover's

Description:

If you love art, then you will be pleasantly surprised with your options when you visit Oahu. Chinatown has had a major rejuvenation in the last several years, and some great galleries and restaurants have opened up. On your way downtown, stop by the Nohea gallery in the Ward area, where you can enjoy the works of hundreds of local artists. It's a gallery and gifts shop with plenty of affordable pieces. Then head to Chinatown and pick up a walking map of the galleries. Indigo is a fantastic place to have a bite or a martini in the area. The next day you can take in the extraordinary works at the Honolulu Academy of Arts in the morning and spend the afternoon at the Contemporary Museum.

Day Note:

The first Friday of the month, the galleries are open until 9pm. The neighborhood explodes with excitement, and it is definitely worth checking out.read more

Day Note:

The Pavilion Cafe is located inside of the Academy and is one of my all time favorite places to eat. When you see the setting, you'll know why. The Contemporary Museum in small, but the view from this once private residence is so spectacular, you can bring a book and enjoy the solitude on the lawn high above Honolulu.read more
