Mountain Romance

Mountain Romance

Description:

The mountains have everything you need for the perfect romantic weekend getaway -- luxury hotels and restaurants, activities for two and beautiful scenery. It's not wonder hundreds of people get engaged and married in the mountains every year.

Day Note:

So you're going to Banff for the weekend. Driving up Friday night. There are a ton of nice hotels in Banff and area, but if you're looking for romance, the Rimrock is pristine, with fine dining, a spa, a piano bar, a skating rink and beautiful mountain views. It's also close to Banff Ave., but far enough away for peace and quiet. It's worth the splurge at least once.

Day Note:

There's nothing more romantic than being suspended high in the air, with nothing but beautiful mountain views all around. That's why you're first stop on your romantic weekend should be a the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. Plan a leisurely morning or afternoon, with time to take photos and hike around. For dinner, the most romantic meal is a three-course fondue at the Grizzly House. Don't opt out of the chocolate fondue dessert course.

Day Note:

Just around the corner from the Rimrock is the Banff Hot Springs. You can spend hours soaking in the natural mountain water, and taking in the surroundings and your company.
