In 2007, this 1967 hotel/condo underwent $60 million in upgrades, additions and renovations to bring it into step with the new look of Waikiki. A rooftop pool with cabanas, reflecting pool in the lobby/courtyard, spa, second-floor pool, cafe in the port cochere, and glass railings on the lanais were added. In 2004, all guest rooms were refurbished, and the public areas (lobby and restaurant) were upgraded and opened up to display the spectacular ocean view. Rooms overlook the ocean and mountains. Great deals are offered for seniors, and family packages include rooms with full kitchen, midsize car, and free parking.

The Ilikai isn't your typical hotel. Portions of it are traditional hotel and portions are privately owned condos. We were visiting with family and each person reserved something different....

At the Ala Moana mall end of Waikiki so I could walk to the mall or head in the direction of the busier section of the beach. Friday evening fireworks behind the Hilton Hawaiian village...

Returning to the Ilikai after 47 Years!

Forty-seven years ago, I met my husband here on his R&R from Viet Nam. We had a week in Honolulu and stayed here. It was wonderful. Came back here yesterday to relive old memories....
