- `Elua Restaurant & Wine Bar merges the talents of two of Hawaii's best known chefs, Donato Loperfido and Philippe Padovani. `Elua is the Hawaiian word for "two", referring to the restaurant's unique menu, which features the French Mediterranean style of Philippe Padovani on one side and the Italian cuisine of Donato Loperfido on the other. The restaurant's menu is also unique because every dish is paired with at least one wine, in keeping with the restaurant's philosophy that the right wine pair enhances the food._x000D_ Born in Italy, Chef Donato owned two restaurants, Donato's Ristorante in Kahala and Donato's Restaurant in Manoa, and was Executive Chef at Sarento's after beginning his culinary career in New York. Chef Philippe was born in Marseilles, France and raised in Australia. Chef Philippe learned his craft in three-star Michelin restaurants such as La Pyramide in France and La Mère Blanc in Vonnas and is one of the original twelve members of Hawaii Regional Cuisine, Inc.
