I want to ensconce myself in "Old Hawaii"...any suggestions on the best places to do that?

It will depend on what area of the states you may wish to attend. If you wish to visit the state of Vermont, I can help you with that. Or most of New England and Upstate NY.

The island of Kauai most resembles the Old style way of life. The north shore especially would be a place to find that Old Hawaii feel. There are slack key guitar shows held weekly by locals from Molokai where in addition to the music they tell stories of old Hawaii.
