One day on Oahu

Description:

If you're just passing through and only have one day on Oahu, it goes without saying that you must spend it in Waikiki. You can grab breakfast a Cheeseburger in Paradise, where all of the servers wear grass skirts (even the guys). Then head over to Diamond State Park and work off those pancakes with a hike to the top. Work your way back down and cool off in the water on the world famous Waikiki beach and take in a surf lesson while you're at it. Lunch at Duke's on the beach is a must, and then you can do some serious shopping along Kalakaua Ave, with the hundreds of luxury boutiques, galleries and gift shops. Wind down your day at The Royal Hawaiian where you can enjoy a glass of pink champagne at the pink hotel. Take in the sunset and a cocktail from the Mai Tai Bar right there on the sand. Perfection.

Day Note:

Begin your Diamond Head hike as early as your schedule allows. It gets very hot and crowded on the trail.read more

    Description:

Head to the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel's private beach to show off your amateur surfing skills. And no harm if you stumble and fall, as only beginners are around for company. You can rent a surfboard from the Aloha Beach Service, who also provide a bodyguard, just in case you lose your balance while trying to impress! But if you are a complete novice, enroll yourself in the classes on offer. Go for snorkeling, if surfing has failed to excite you-equipment is rented out for that too.
