- Huntington Beach is called "Surf City USA," and if you check out this event, you'll see why. This is a week where pro surfers from around the world come to compete and go for the perfect wave. The Open also features competitions in other extreme sports including in-line skating, wakeboarding, skateboarding and BMX biking. The sporting events are complemented by live entertainment, fun activities and games for the entire family. Admission to watch is free, and most events take place south of the Main Street pier.
