Description:

  • This 7 mile trail begins west of Evergreen in the Mount Evans State Wildlife Area. It leads into the Mount Evans Wilderness and intersects the Beartracks Trail. The trail follows an old fire road for about a mile to a scenic meadow with a variety of wildflowers. The meadows are dotted with several beaver ponds which are good for fishing or a lunch spot. Continuing on, the trail climbs to Rest House Meadows. From here it is possible to get to Lincoln Lake and Echo Lake. The Beaver Meadows Trail leaves the meadow and climbs through an old burn area. The trail ends at the junction to Beartrack Lakes and Meridian Pass. To get there from Evergreen travel west on Upper Bear Creek Road for 10 miles to the Mount Evans State Wildlife Area, then go west to the Camp Rock Trailhead. The road in the State Wildlife Area is closed intermittently in the fall for hunting season and from January 1 to June 15.
