Locally owned for decades, The Flicks is Boise's option for the films that won't be showing at regular movies theaters. Look for higher quality films, foreign movies, independent directors, and local film festival fare. The Flicks is often first to show the lasting films of our time. They also show documentaries you won't see elsewhere.One of our favorite elements at The Flicks is the lovely staff at the food counter, where you can get sandwiches, cookies, quiche, and any number of burgers, soups, and other hearty meals. Oh, they have popcorn, soda, and candy, too--don't worry--but way cheaper than the megaplex. You can even order wine and beer. Eat near the cozy fireplace in the winter or the open air patio outside in warmer months. Or take your food right into the theater. That's right: take your meal and your beer into the movie with you. You can't do that anywhere else.
