  • Idaho does not have much in common with Italy, aside from the common first letter of our names. We're landlocked. Much of the state is dessert or a wilderness of mountains and rivers. There are very few large towns. Even so, you can find plenty of great Italian food here. Idahoans love to eat ethnic food.

Something Idaho DOES have in common with Italy is plenty of locally grown, fresh ingredients that make Italian food so delicious. Many of the restaurants listed below take every opportunity to buy from local and organic farmers, preparing their meals from scratch, using passed-down family recipes.

Good Italian food needs good wine, and Idaho is one of the hidden gems of wine growing excellence. Coupled with Washington and Oregon wines, most restaurants have incredible wine lists of regional wines, as well as the more common California wines. Of course a good Chianti and a true Italian pizza make a terrific meal, anywhere you go.
