The Safari Inn is an undiscovered deal in the Boise hotel scene. It's as cheap as some of the big chains out by the airport, but it's downtown and nicer than those chain places. Because it's not solidly booked, you can often get a great room deal at the last minute. Especially on holidays when everyone is out of town, you'll get a great rate.

• Location: On Grove and 11th in the heart of downtown, the Safari is just one block from the Boise Centre on the Grove, the convention and event center where all the fun in downtown Boise starts. Qwest Arena, home of the Idaho Steelheads hockey team is at the Grove, as is the Saturday farmer's market that runs almost year round.
  
  Rooms: Rooms at the Safari are nothing special, but they are spacious, clean, modern, and bright. If you simply want a nice room to sleep after your day of skiing, conventionalizing, sight seeing, or business meetings, this is the perfect place.
