Alia's Coffee House

NileGuide Expert Says:

The Killer Tomato is one of the best bagel sandwiches. It comes on any flavor bagel you like (my favorites are sunflower, garlic, and everything) with cream cheese, tomato, and fresh basil topped off with freshly ground pepper. The bars and no bake cookies are a great option if calories are no concern.

NileGuide Expert tip:

Parking can be a bit of a hassle in getting to Alia's. If you are lucky enough to find on-street parking, it will be at a meter that you will want to keep filled with quarters. A parking garage across the street offers free parking for the first hour, so if you're just eating lunch and leaving, that's a good option. The garage is rarely full, so finding a spot it easy.

Description:

Atmosphere: Alia's is a great hangout in the heart of downtown Boise. The business crowd rushes in for coffee and lunch throughout the day. The high schoolers come down for a quick lunch or after school study session. Tables, counters, and cozy couches provide comfortable gathering spots for any sized group. Free Wi-Fi and endless refills make this an excellent place to get some work/studying done.

Food and Drink: Alia's has all the usual coffee drinks, including specialty drinks like peppermint mocha during the holidays. Summertime favorites include freshly brewed iced tea, Italian sodas, iced hot chocolate, and smoothies of all flavors. A small, but selective and excellent, loose tea selection will delight any tea snob. Bagels are the food of choice, in about 20 different varieties with toppings including all manner of cream cheese selections, to eggs/cheese/bacon/lox on breakfast bagels, to lunch sandwiches for the carnivore and the vegetarian alike. Bagels are made fresh daily on the premises. Most sandwich options include tortilla chips and a pickle. Yummy soups warm up a winter afternoon. A deli case displays other choices, such as salads, yogurt and granola cups, and an array of delicious cookies, bars, and muffins. This is not a gourmet place, but rather aimed at helping customers find delicious, homemade food that they can carry back to their desks or conference tables.
