NileGuide Expert tip:
Book the wine cellar for a large group.
Red Feather is one of the best restaurants in Boise. With a commitment to buying from local farmers and ranchers, an amazing list of cocktails, and friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. The ambiance is rich, dark, and earthy--literally. Word has it that if you ask, you can tour the compost pile out back.
Because food is from local sources as often as possible, the menu changes frequently, giving diners a constantly new experience. Offerings include such wonders as grilled kale caesar salad, roasted potato wood fired pizza, pumpkin gnocchi, and their famous mac and cheese--yes it is very, very good. The desserts are all original creations like Satsuma-Pistachio Mouse or Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cake. The wine list features local and regional wines. And if you visit in winter, you must try the hot buttered rum.
