    Description:

    • The Idaho Shakespeare Festival runs from June through September each year, performing five plays each season. Usually, there are two Shakespeare plays, a musical, plus two other classic or modern plays, ranging from Oscar Wilde to Arthur Miller. The final plays of the season runs in September and is often a smaller production with only a few actors.

The outdoor amphitheater is located east of Boise along the Boise River and provides the perfect setting for a summer evening of Shakespeare and others.

Audience members are encouraged to bring picnics or eat at the cafe on the premises. For some, the picnic tradition is as much a part of the experience as the live, professional theater.
