Mesa Falls consists of Upper Mesa Falls and Lower Mesa Falls, near Ashton, Idaho. A scenic byway takes you off the main highway for a leisurely trip that seems to go back in time.This combination of falls is the only waterfall system in the state that has not been manipulated by humans via dams or irrigation, so it is completely the way nature made it. That's not something you see much in our modern world.
Hiking trails, a visitor center, and plenty of activities abound. In the winter, the byway is accessible only by snowmobiles and becomes a winter wonderland.
