- The Ridge to Rivers Trail system takes bikers, hikers, and horseback riders along 152 different trails covering 130 miles in the foothills north of Boise. Some trails are easy, some are more challenging. Some are pedestrian only. Every level of hiker or mountain biker will find a trail that suits your skills.
Trails can be hot and dry, so preparing a day pack with plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat with a wide brim is a good idea.
Depending on the season, you'll see rare and native plants such as wooly sunflower, prairie star, sego lily, syringa, arrowleaf balsamroot, and more. You might see deer, elk, coyotes, fox, a variety of bird species, and underground rodents.
