Description:

• The Sawtooth National Recreation Area is a large area of Idaho, including the Sawtooth National Forest. Occupying much of central Idaho, this mountainous region features rugged peaks, evergreen forests, the Salmon River, many lakes, and plenty of recreational opportunities.
  
  Hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, boating, and white water rafting are some of the most popular summer activities in the area. In the winter, outdoors enthusiasts like to cross country ski or snowshoe.
