• Type: Hiking
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

The Tahoe Rim trail is a great way to introduce yourself to Tahoe's scenery, and since it's over 165 miles long, you can make it as mellow or challenging as you like.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

The trail is used by hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. Remember who has the right of way.

    Description:

    • This is perhaps the most scenic and popular trail in the country. It winds 150-miles through national forest, wilderness and park lands. Hike, bike or horseback ride in the thick conifer forests and beautiful meadows. Unlimited panoramic views are at every turn, from horizon to horizon, high atop the granite peaks. Visitors can fish, picnic or camp along beautiful streams and lakes. Enjoy it for a few hours or even a few days, but remember to leave it as you found it. To hike on this trail, you must register at the kiosk at the trailhead. You can access the trail at various areas around the lake. Visit the Tahoe Rim Trail Association website for information.
