Elferhaus

• The Elfer (eleventh house-a reference to the house number) is a typical Alpine pub - it is large with simple wooden benches and a couple of dozen types of beer on offer. To complement this, they serve simple, tasty food, favorites such as Munich White Sausage, Goulash, Topped Bread and Griebnen Burschn (a potato-based dish). In addition, there are always two different daily dishes representing typical Austrian fare, such as Potato Goulash or Wiener Schnitzel. Lunch will set you back something in the region of EUR5-7, and all that in one of the most central addresses in the city, right opposite the Golden Roof. The Elferhaus has avoided making the mistake of becoming a well-known tourist haunt and the many regulars are testament to the hard work of the management. Food is served outside until 11p.
