Description:
- St. Anton am Arlberg is located at 1300 meters above sea level and has about 2500 inhabitants. Skiing has a long history in this village: even before World War I, the first skiing teachers were employed at St. Anton. Today, the dynamic and international village presents the professional state of the art in large-scale winter tourism: St. Anton is one of Austria's most important vacation resorts. There are hundreds of apartments and dozens of hotels and restaurants, many of them absolute top-class establishments. And there is also a large and very lively après-ski and nightlife scene. The Arlberg skiing area offers 85 (!) ski-lift facilities in total, leading into heights of almost 3000 meters (the highest point accessible by these lifts is the Valluga, 2800 meters above sea level.) More than 250 kilometers of groomed pistes, as well as about 200 kilometers of untouched slopes for ski hikers, 30 kilometers of cross-country skiing runs, a four-kilometer toboggan run (flood-lit twice a week), and so on. St. Anton is perfect for people who wish to pass a winter vacation as comfortably as possible, in a very lively resort, where you are constantly spoilt for choice - whether it comes to accommodation, restaurants, sports facilities or nightlife.
