- Christina's Pizza unfortunately does not have the best pizza in Iquitos, but it does have an affordable menu and a little secret, which is fantastic cerviche. Cerviche is the National dish of Peru and is made with raw fish marinated in lemon juice to 'cook' it through a chemical process. Add some onions and seaweed on a bed of boiled potato, yam, and yucca and you've got a great meal. The restaurant is small but very clean and comfortable and located just half a block from the Plaza de Armas. The owner is a great guy who often comes out and sits with people to converse with them during the meal. He also has a gorgeous hospedaje in Santo Tomas, right on the water. If you want the cerviche, I recommend going before 2pm, as it often runs out quickly as it is a local favorite. They also serve appetizers and a few other italian dishes. It's one of my favorite places to eat when near the Plaza de Armas.
