- El Rancho is owned by the same owner of El Carbon, Iquitos' top steak house, so you know it serves high quality food. While El Carbon is a grill, El Rancho specializes in Pollo a la Brasa, also known as rotisserie chicken, the favorite food of Iquitanians without a doubt. El Rancho is the premier place for this delicacy, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is also top notch. The chicken is cooked in a brick over rotisserie, and the rest of the food is prepared in the kitchen in back. The service is great and the restaurant is clean and comfortable, although due to the amount of business they do, it is often crowded. Even with a crowd, it is a great place to have an excellent dining experience. You can only get chicken there, and often times, only the rotisserie chicken, but they do have a menu with a few other options, all chicken. The meals are served with french fries and salad, although rice can be substituted for the fries. It is located just one block from the Plaza de Armas and is right on the corner of Napo and Huallaga, so it is very easy to find. They open late and stay open late, and I would definitely recommend El Rancho if you like rotisserie chicken.
