• La Gran Maloca is one of the original restaurants in Iquitos. It is a fine dining restaurant that actually focuses quite a bit on atmosphere. The space is very inviting and also very quiet and comfortable. The service is unusually attentive and reminds diners of what the dining experience can truly be. The menu is extensive and offers such delicacies as lobster with shrimp sauce and curried alligator. It is an amazing dining experience in a town that does not have much to offer in fine dining. It's prices are high in comparison, but the restaurant makes up for it by having a quiet place to enjoy a meal, which is very rare in Iquitos. The restaurant is located just a half block from the Boulevard that borders the Amazon river, so after you're meal you can easily take a stroll along the beautiful river and further enjoy the dining experience.
